Summary: Researchers simulated marine conditions to study the aging of PET and HDPE materials, finding that aged PET materials had significantly impaired mechanical and optical properties, while other properties did not change significantly. Despite this, plastic products made from aged plastic material could still be successfully manufactured through mechanical recycling.
