This paper reports the first total synthesis of microansamycin I via a five-step chemical sequence, with an early-stage Heck reaction and Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons olefination as key steps.
Herein, we report the first total synthesis of microansamycin I via a five-step chemical sequence. Key to our reported synthesis is an early-stage Heck reaction, which enables convergent assembly of the dienone side chain via a Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons olefination. (C) 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
