This study investigated the potential application of electrodialysis for arsenic removal from water by evaluating the influence of operational parameters. The results showed that applied voltage and initial concentration of arsenic in the feed solution have significant effects on removal efficiency, while the mass-transfer coefficients increase with higher applied voltage. pH of the feed solution has minimal impact on mass-transfer coefficients within the applied voltage range.
The potential application of electrodialysis (ED) for arsenic (As) removal from water was investigated by evaluating the influence of operational parameters on removal efficiency of As. The applied voltage and the initial concentration of As in the feed solution have significant effects on the removal efficiency of As in the transfer As from feed to concentrate compartments. The mass-transfer coefficient is increased with increase in applied voltage, and those of As(V) are always higher than those of As(III). The pH of feed solution has little effect on the mass-transfer coefficients of As(III) and As(V) within the applied voltage range.
