Four 1D pi-d conjugated coordination polymers were synthesized and applied in humidity sensing, with Cu-DABDT showing optimal performance. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of 1D conjugated coordination polymers in humidity sensing due to their unique electrical properties.
Various materials were applied for humidity sensing, but the demanding high sensitivity and fast response to distinguish human breath patterns is challenging to achieve. In this paper, four 1D pi-d conjugated coordination polymers (CCPs) were synthesized through reaction of DABDT and metal ions (Cu2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Pt2+) and fabricated into humidity sensors. Among these CCPs, Cu-DABDT offered the optimal performance: an impedance variation of 10(2)-10(8) Omega in working range 11 %-95 % RH, outperforming the benchmarked conjugated polymers. A portable humidity monitoring device was fabricated and tested able to distinguish different patterns of breath accurately and consecutively. Our result demonstrated that 1D conjugated coordination polymers are effective in humidity sensing due to their unique electrical properties.
