Validation of Zulu Watch against Polysomnography and Actigraphy for On-Wrist Sleep-Wake Determination and Sleep-Depth Estimation

The Development and Accuracy of the THIM Wearable Device for Estimating Sleep and Wakefulness

There were no significant differences between THIM and PSG in various sleep parameters. However, there was high variability in the accuracy of all three actigraphy devices between individuals.

Heart Rate Variability and Firstbeat Method for Detecting Sleep Stages in Healthy Young Adults: Feasibility Study

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the validity of the Firstbeat sleep analysis method based on HRV and accelerometer measurements in healthy adults. The results showed that the Firstbeat method had no significant difference in detecting light and slow wave sleep compared to PSG, but underestimated REM sleep and overestimated wake time. This study suggests that Firstbeat is a feasible method with sufficient validity to measure nocturnal sleep stage variation.
