Time-dependent cognitive and somatic symptoms of depression as predictors of new cardiac-related events in at-risk patients: the UPBEAT-UK cohort

J. Norton et al.

Summary: This study found that both somatic and cognitive depressive symptoms are risk factors for new cardiac events in at-risk patients. Specific symptoms within these dimensions were also significantly associated with the events. Regular assessments and tailored interventions targeting specific depressive symptoms may help prevent new cardiac events in at-risk populations.
