Auxin metabolic network regulates the plant response to metalloids stress

Harshita Singh et al.

Summary: Metalloids are major pollutants affecting the environment and global food security. Plants respond to metalloid stress by regulating phytohormones, with auxin playing a key role in improving plant growth under metalloid stress by triggering biological responses and combating oxidative stress. Further research is needed to fully understand the molecular and physiological responses to metalloid toxicity.

Main nitric oxide (NO) hallmarks to relieve arsenic stress in higher plants

Javaid Akhter Bhat et al.

Summary: Arsenic is toxic to plants and poses severe health risks to humans. Under arsenic stress, endogenous NO metabolism is affected, but exogenous NO application can provide beneficial effects.

Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Mitigates Arsenic (As)-Induced Toxicity in Pea (Pisum sativum L.) Plants by Regulating Osmoregulation, Antioxidant Defense System, Ascorbate Glutathione Cycle and Glyoxalase System

Abdulaziz Abdullah Alsahli et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that exogenous H2S significantly reduces arsenic accumulation in pea plants and promotes growth and photosynthetic parameters. H2S supply also reduces H2O2 and MDA levels in pea plants, as well as electrolyte leakage. Additionally, H2S enhances the activities of antioxidant enzymes and the AsA-GSH cycle enzymes, increasing levels of ascorbate, glutathione, and methylglyoxal.
