An efficient GIS-based approach for sustainability assessment of urban drinking water consumption patterns: A study in Tabriz city, Iran

Bakhtiar Feizizadeh et al.

Summary: This study presents a new approach for spatial modeling of urban drinking water consumption patterns using GIS multi-criteria decision analysis, with an evaluation conducted in Tabriz city, Iran. Results show that urban fields, texture, and demographic properties significantly impact water consumption ratios.

Forest fire susceptibility modeling using hybrid approaches

Hassan Abedi Gheshlaghi et al.

Summary: This study mapped the susceptibility to forest fires in Nowshahr County, Iran using a combination of methods, finding the FMV-IOE model to have slightly higher predictive accuracy than the FR-IOE and IV-IOE models. These models can be effectively used for fire repression resource planning, sustainable development, and early warning in regions with similar conditions.

Landslide susceptibility mapping using AHP and fuzzy methods in the Gilan province, Iran

Yousef Bahrami et al.

Summary: This study utilized AHP and fuzzy methods to map landslide susceptibility in Gilan province, finding that 29.53% and 36.53% of the total area were considered high and very high-risk areas, respectively. The AUC values for AHP and fuzzy maps were 92.4 and 91.9, indicating high prediction accuracy.

An integrated approach of GIS and hybrid intelligence techniques applied for flood risk modeling

Bakhtiar Feizizadeh et al.

Summary: This study presents new ensemble models based on Index of Entropy, Fuzzy Membership Value, Frequency Ratio, and Information Value for assessing flood susceptibility, with high accuracy validated through Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic calculations. The main drivers of flood occurrence were identified as soil, land use, and SPI factors. The research contributes significantly to GISciences development and the analysis of hybrid intelligence techniques in decision-making systems integration.
