Cross rolling and intercritical annealing is proposed as an alternative processing route for dual-phase steels, resulting in refined ferrite grains and evenly distributed martensite islands. This processed low-carbon steel exhibits improved strength-ductility balance, higher hardness, and greater work hardening exponent.
Cross rolling followed by intercritical annealing was proposed as an alternative route for processing of dual phase (DP) steels, which led to fine recrystallized ferrite grain size and uniformly distributed martensite islands. Accordingly, the processed low-carbon steel showed better strength-ductility trade off, higher hardness, and greater work-hardening exponent.
