In this study, the anisotropy of the Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy sheet in the peak-aged state was analyzed, showing that grain orientation and Schmid factor significantly affect the alloy properties. Samples at 0 degrees and 90 degrees have higher strength but lower elongation due to wider distribution of Schmid factors, while samples at 45 degrees and 60 degrees have lower strength but higher elongation due to narrower distribution of Schmid factors.
In this paper, the anisotropy of the Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy sheet in the peak-aged state (0 degrees, 30 degrees, 45 degrees, 60 degrees and 90 degrees with the rolling direction) is studied. The results show that texture is one of the important factors affecting the anisotropy of the Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy. In addition, there are obvious differences in the Schmid factor of grains with different orientations. The 0 degrees and 90 degrees samples have smaller Schmid factors and higher strengths. However, the Schmid factor has a wide distribution range, which results in uneven deformation and easy cracks, so its elongation is low. On the contrary, the 45 degrees and 60 degrees samples have larger Schmid factors, but their numerical distribution range is smaller, so their strength is lower and the elongation is larger.
