Theoretical assessment of the adsorption mechanism of ibuprofen, ampicillin, orange G and malachite green on a biomass functionalized with plasma

Haifa A. Al-Yousef et al.

Summary: This study presents a theoretical assessment on the adsorption mechanisms of pharmaceuticals and dyes on a biomass functionalized with plasma treatment. Results show that adsorption capacities were influenced by adsorption temperature and molecular aggregation in the aqueous solution. Plasma functionalized cocoa shell exhibited the highest adsorption capacity for dyes, especially orange G at 298 K.
