Solvent-Free One-Pot Synthesis of Diverse Dihydropyrimidinones/Tetrahydropyrimidinones Using Biginelli Reaction Catalyzed by Fe3O4@C@OSO3H

Summary: A one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidinone/thione and 3,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidinone/thione derivatives was successfully achieved using Fe(3)O(4)@C@OSO(3)H nano-catalyst under solvent-free conditions. The process exhibited advantages such as high product yield, fast reaction time, simple work-up procedure, and the use of non-toxic, reusable, and easily recoverable catalyst. The magnetic nano-catalyst showed good reusability without significant decay in catalyst activity. The synthesis of the magnetic nano-catalyst was simple and inexpensive, and it was characterized by various techniques.
