Facile fabrication of CuO nanoparticles via microwave-assisted method: photocatalytic, antimicrobial and anticancer enhancing performance

Karthik Kannan et al.

Summary: In this study, biogenic CuO nanoparticles were successfully produced using Andrographis paniculata as a source by the green method of microwave-assisted process. The resulting CuO nanoparticles exhibited small particle size and good photocatalytic performance. They also showed inhibitory effects against foodborne pathogens and potential anti-cancer activity. Furthermore, the biocompatibility of these biogenic CuO nanoparticles suggests their potential applications in toxic pollutant treatment and pharmaceutical drug development.
