Total internal reflection ellipsometry for kinetics-based assessment of bovine serum albumin immobilization on ZnO nanowires

Summary: ZnO materials with nanostructures have been successfully applied in optical detection systems to enhance sensitivity. Electrochemically deposited ZnO-NWs were modified and covalently immobilized with BSA, showing significantly improved reflectance and diffusion coefficient compared to plain ZnO layer. Simulation results indicated a 13-fold higher sensitivity for BSA immobilization on ZnO-NWs modified surface.
