Experimental studies on n- heptane pyrolytic characteristics in CO2/H2O atmosphere

Summary: Experimental results showed that the pyrolysis characteristics of n-heptane in a CO2/H2O atmosphere were significantly influenced by the reaction atmosphere and residence time. Under low residence times, the mass yields of ethylene and propylene in the CO2/H2O mixture were significantly higher than in the single H2O atmosphere. It was also found that at 1173 K, the total mass yield of ethylene and propylene exceeded 60%, with an olefin selectivity of about 40%, which was the peak value among all experimental temperature conditions.
