Environmental Indicator for COVID-19 Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions

Summary: City lockdown is effective in reducing new COVID-19 cases, and NO2 concentration is a useful indicator for evaluating the effectiveness of lockdown measures. Stricter lockdown measures lead to earlier decline in new cases and faster reduction in NO2 concentration. NO2 satellite observations are valuable for monitoring and managing non-pharmaceutical interventions during the epidemic.
