Summary: This study examines the effects of various measures taken by the Chinese government on CO2 emissions, finding significant progress in energy-saving production technologies, improvements in energy and production efficiency due to industrial restructuring, but also an increase in emissions related to pure energy and production efficiency changes. Disparities in technology across regions hindered further emission reduction efforts.
