Summary: The study shows that institutional factors such as political stability, corruption control, and rule of law are crucial in reducing carbon emissions and improving environmental quality, with the interaction between political stability and rule of law having the potential to decrease CO2 emissions. Furthermore, foreign direct investment has heterogeneous effects on carbon emissions across different income groups, and trade openness has differing impacts on CO2 emissions in countries with varying income levels.

Inter-annual and seasonal variations in optical and physical characteristics of columnar aerosols over the Pokhara Valley in the Himalayan foothills

Summary: This study analyzed the seasonal and inter-annual variations of aerosol optical and physical properties over the Pokhara Valley in Nepal. The results showed that aerosol optical depth is highest in the pre-monsoon season and lowest in the monsoon season. The study also found that the aerosol volume size distributions are bimodal, with peaks observed in the pre-monsoon season of 2016.
