Analysis of temporal patterns in animal movement networks

Cristian Pasquaretta et al.

Summary: This study introduces a method that incorporates time into movement network analysis, transforming animal trajectories into spatial networks and extracting temporal sequences of network motifs to reveal the successions of spatial patterns corresponding to changes in behavioral modes over time for specific animal trajectories.

Unifying spatial and social network analysis in disease ecology

Gregory F. Albery et al.

Summary: Social network analysis has gained popularity in disease ecology, but sometimes neglects spatial heterogeneity. Many studies on sociality and disease could be influenced by cryptic spatial variation, limiting inference on disease dynamics. Simmons to combining spatial and social behavioral data in disease analyses can be complex, contributing to the scarcity of simultaneous spatial-social network analyses in disease ecology.
