A microporous material composed of dicopper paddlewheels and diisophthalate ligands has been successfully synthesized, showing good gas separation ability for C2H2/CO2 and C2H6/CH4 mixtures with short separation time.
Owing to the critical industrial value, the applications of MOFs in the field of light hydrocarbon gases storage and separation have attracted increasing attention. In this work, a microporous material, which is composed of typical dicopper paddlewheels and diisophthalate ligands, has been successfully synthesized. It exhibits good gas separation ability for C2H2/CO2 mixtures and C2H6/CH4 mixtures, respectively. Confirmed by the breakthrough experiments, the separation time of C2H2/CO2 mixtures (50/50) and C2H6/CH4 mixtures (15/85) can reach up to 36 and 95 min/g, respectively (gas flow rate = 2 cm(3)/min).
