YAP and endothelin-1 signaling: an emerging alliance in cancer

Piera Tocci et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown the interaction between ET-1 and the Hippo pathway, and the ET-1R/beta-arr1 axis triggers a transcriptional interplay involving YAP and mutant p53 proteins, which function in the oncogenic signaling network. Dual ET-1 receptor antagonists can interfere with the ET-1R/YAP/mutp53 signaling interplay, hindering metastasis and therapy resistance in tumors.

The role of the Hippo pathway in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease

Zhuo Xie et al.

Summary: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic and recurrent inflammatory disorder primarily comprising Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). The pathogenesis of IBD is considered to involve a combination of environment, genetic predisposition, gut microbiota, and abnormal immunity, with the recently emerged Hippo pathway playing a key role in gastrointestinal physiology and diseases. However, further research is needed to elucidate the exact impact of the Hippo pathway in IBD.
