Investigation on the strength, durability and swelling of cement- solidified dredged sludge admixed fly ash and nano-SiO2

Lei Lang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effectiveness of using fly ash and nano-SiO2 blended with Portland cement for solidifying dredged sludge. The results show that the addition of fly ash and nano-SiO2 can significantly improve the strength and water resistance of the sludge, and reduce its water absorption and swelling. SEM and XRD analysis confirm the formation of cementitious products in the solidified sludge.

Effects of fly ash and slag content on the solidification of river-dredged sludge

Feiyu Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the solidification effectiveness of different proportions of curing agents on river-dredged sludge. The results show that an optimal combination of curing agents exists, where increasing fly ash and slag content can improve solidification. However, the negative effects of curing agents on sludge should be considered when using industrial waste residue as a curing agent.

Utilization of lime/carbide slag-activated ground granulated blast-furnace slag for dredged sludge stabilization

Lei Lang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the potential of using lime (L) and carbide slag (CS) to activate ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) for stabilizing dredged sludge (DS) as a substitute for Portland cement (PC). Optimum lime content of 20-25% and carbide slag content of 25-30% were recommended for achieving the highest UCS in stabilized DS. The main hydration products for stabilized DS were found to be CSH and CAH gels, with ettringite detected in CS-GGBS stabilized DS.
