Dietary microRNAs and cancer: A new therapeutic approach?

Summary: Cancer is a major cause of premature death, with modifiable risk factors such as dietary habits playing a significant role in cancer risk. MiRNAs, as crucial molecular elements, have been found to be associated with various cancers, with potential regulation by bioactive dietary components. The findings suggest novel approaches to cancer therapy.

Summary: miRNAs are potential mediators of gene expression in therapeutic strategies, but the instability of extracellular RNAs limits their biological function. Strategies to enhance miRNA therapeutic potential include developing efficient, tissue-specific delivery methods using exosomes. However, a standard, reproducible, and cost-effective protocol for exosome isolation and extracellular RNA delivery is currently lacking.
