In this paper, a mixed constraint scheme using a global Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm is implemented for the improved generation of phase holograms from multiplane intensity distributions. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated compared to other algorithms in various scenarios involving intensity distributions of up to nine independent planes. The careful selection of parameters in the mixed constraint hologram generation technique can lead to even greater improvements in reconstruction quality, as validated by numerical results.
