Nb-MCM-Type Mesoporous Material Synthesis Using Ionic Solid as Structure-Directing Agent for In Situ Lipase Immobilization

Iemedelais Bordin et al.

Summary: Niobium-doped MCM-41 and MCM-48 materials were successfully synthesized using [C14MI]Cl as a structure-directing agent, with CALB enzyme immobilized in situ. The materials exhibited excellent pore structure and catalytic performance, especially showing potential industrial applications at high temperatures.

Summary: The study investigated the use of polyethylene glycol (PEG) as an additive to protect enzymes from denaturing effects during the sol-gel process. It was found that PEG enhanced esterification activity and stability in xerogel but may lead to reduced enzyme activity in aerogel.
