Electrospun PMMA nanofibers are modified by incorporating neodymium complexes, enhancing their optical and structural properties. These improved nanofibers can be utilized in lasers and optical devices for their enhanced performance.
Pure, surface-roughened and coaxial hollow poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) nanofibers are produced through electrospinning. These nanofibers are incorporated with synthesized neodymium beta-diketonate complex. Structurally modified PMMA nanofibers show the best host matrix nature to neodymium complex. Neodymium complexes have significant contribution on the optical properties of these fibers with enhanced photoluminescence intensity and blue shift in peaks. The advancements made in the optical and structural properties of pure and structurally modified electrospun PMMA nanofibers are further improved by neodymium complexes. This intensity enhanced pure and structurally modified PMMA nanofibers incorporated with neodymium complex can be used in lasers and optical devices.
