Synthesis and application of core-shell liquid metal particles: a perspective of surface engineering

Summary: Liquid metal micro/nano particles (LMPs) from gallium and its alloys have attracted attention due to their unique metallic and fluidic properties, but achieving highly controllable fabrication and functionalization remains a challenge. This review explores solutions for on-demand design and manipulation of LMPs through physicochemical engineering of their surface microenvironment, showcasing improved performances of core-shell liquid metal composites in various scenarios.
