Effects of Foliar Fertilization: a Review of Current Status and Future Perspectives

Summary: The use of large amounts of chemical fertilizers in high-yield agriculture poses challenges such as low fertilizer utilization rates and soil degradation. Spraying chelated fertilizers on leaves can reduce overall fertilizer usage and improve efficiency. However, inorganic foliar fertilizers may hinder nutrient absorption in plants. Chelated foliar fertilizers play a critical role in improving element utilization efficiency and crop yield. Their effectiveness is influenced by various factors such as the molecular structure and chelating strength of the chelating agents.
