This study focuses on the use of Fe2O3-Al2O3-Ga2O3 as a new photocatalyst for the sono-photo-Fenton degradation of Methyl violet 10B. The optimal parameters were identified through full factorial design, resulting in efficient degradation of Methyl violet 10B.
This study focuses on the use of Fe2O3-Al2O3-Ga2O3 as a new photocatalyst for the sono-photo-Fenton degradation of Methyl violet 10B. Fe2O3-Al2O3-Ga2O3 was prepared using the chemical precipitation method and characterized by various techniques, such as BET, FTIR, SEM, and XRD. The optical properties of the photocatalyst were investigated, and the optical band gap was found to be 2.25 eV. The effects of five factors, including the H2O2 dose, catalyst amount, time, MV10B initial concentration, and pH, were optimized using the full factorial design. Additionally, the regression quadratic model representing the MV10B removal efficiency of sono-photo-Fenton was developed and validated the experimental design. The optimal parameters were found as, 25 mg L-1 of H2O2 dose, 50 mg L-1 of Fe2O3-Al2O3-Ga2O3 amount, 10 mg L-1 of dye initial concentration, 30 min of photosonication time, and pH 3. Good results were found with consequential total MV10B degradation within 30 min and removal efficiency greater than 96.5%.
