Physical pretreatment and algal enzyme hydrolysis of dried low-grade and waste longan fruits to enhance its fermentable sugar production

Tu Vy Thuy Nguyen et al.

Summary: Fruit production in Thailand has been increasing, but fruit waste management has become a concern. This study evaluated the production of bioethanol from low-grade and waste longan fruits using physical pretreatment and blue-green algal enzymes. The results show that using algal enzymes improves fermentable sugar production and is applicable for bioethanol production.
