Do Domestic Pigs Acquire a Positive Perception of Humans through Observational Social Learning?

Daniela Luna et al.

Summary: The study shows that pigs can positively perceive and interact with humans after observing a conspecific receiving gentle handling. This observational social learning is not biased by the demonstrator's social rank, suggesting that regular positive handling of selected pigs can reduce fear and stress in large groups of pigs.
