Measurement of Endogenous Phosphorus Losses in Broiler Chickens

Summary: The experiment aimed to estimate ileal and excreta endogenous phosphorus losses in broiler chickens. Results showed that the endogenous phosphorus losses varied significantly depending on the assay diet used, with higher losses in birds fed a casein-based diet compared to P-free and gelatin-based diets. Additionally, there was a significant interaction between the assay diet and site of measurement.
