We investigated the electrical characteristics of an asymmetric n-step network (including the branch current, node voltage and equivalent resistance). We studied the problem by modeling the differential equation via the method of network analysis, and modeling the constraint equation via the currents of input and output. A series of new analytical formulae are derived by using above methods. As applications of the resistance formula, the equivalent complex impedance of an n-step LC network is discussed in detail, and some interesting characteristics changing with various parameters are revealed.
