Deep learning approach for the segmentation of aneurysmal ascending aorta

Summary: This study investigated the feasibility and efficacy of deep learning for automatic segmentation of ATAAs, comparing the performance of UNet, ENet, and ERFNet. Results showed that ENet and UNet were more accurate than ERFNet, with ENet being significantly faster. Deep learning models can rapidly and accurately segment and quantify the 3D geometry of ATAAs, facilitating personalized approaches to patient management.
