Properties investigation of 3D printed continuous pineapple leaf fiber-reinforced PLA composite

Summary: This study investigates the mechanical properties of 3D printed parts using continuous pineapple leaf fiber as the reinforcement. The experiment shows that the use of continuous pineapple leaf fiber increases the tensile strength of the composite without increasing dimensional error or print time, but decreases the elongation.

Mechanical properties of CF-reinforced PLA parts manufactured by fused deposition modeling

Summary: The study focused on the influence of nozzle temperature and infill line orientations on parts made with short carbon fiber-reinforced polylactic acid, as well as the effects of annealing on crystallinity and mechanical properties. Results showed that high nozzle temperature and specific infill orientations can improve tensile properties, while annealing can increase crystallinity and Young's modulus.

A comparative study for the behavior of 3D-printed and compression molded PLA/POSS nanocomposites

Summary: This study compared the performance of 3D-printed PLA/POSS nanocomposites with compression molded PLA/POSS specimens, showing significant improvements in strength, elastic modulus, and fracture toughness values of the 3D-printed specimens. It was observed that the physical structure and mechanical properties of the 3D-printed specimens remained almost unaffected even after being stored for 120 days in a physiological solution.
