A structure-based nomenclature for Bacillus thuringiensis and other bacteria-derived pesticidal proteins

Neil Crickmore et al.

Summary: A nomenclature based on protein sequence comparisons was established in 1998 to name pesticidal proteins from Bacillus thuringiensis. This nomenclature was widely adopted but later found to have limitations in representing the diverse range of identified proteins, leading to a revision.
