The report discusses the synthesis of a series of biphosphirane complexes from phosphiranide complexes, and the intramolecular dimerization of these complexes to yield 1,4-diphosphanorbornane derivatives catalyzed by binuclear Mn-2 (CO)(10). This work highlights the synthetic potential of transforming small phosphiranes to phospha-heterocycles through metal-catalyzed reactions.
In this report, a series of biphosphirane complexes 1 were synthesized from the phosphiranide complex. The binuclear Mn-2 (CO)(10)-catalyzed intramolecular dimerization of these biphosphirane complexes provided 1,4-diphosphanorbornane derivatives. This work demonstrates the synthetic possibility of transforming small phosphiranes to phospha-heterocycles by metal-catalyzed reactions.
