New approaches to species delimitation and population structure of anthozoans: Two case studies of octocorals using ultraconserved elements and exons

Katie L. Erickson et al.

Summary: As coral populations decline worldwide, documenting distribution, diversity, and conservation status becomes imperative. Target enrichment of UCEs and exons is proven to be effective for delimiting species boundaries and population structure in corals. These case studies demonstrate the utility of this method for addressing evolutionary and taxonomic questions in corals across deep to shallow timescales.
