Pathogenic variability amongst Indian isolates of Magnaporthe grisea causing blast in pearl millet

Summary: Blast disease caused by Magnaporthe grisea is a major constraint to pearl millet production in India. The pathogen is highly variable, but isolates are mostly specific in their host range. 80 isolates were clustered into 14 pathogenic groups based on their virulence profiling, and four isolates representing different pathogenic groups have been selected for screening pearl millet lines for blast resistance.
