ACE2 & TMPRSS2 Expressions in Head & Neck Tissues: A Systematic Review

Jerome R. Lechien et al.

Summary: The review found that ACE2 and TMPRSS2 are widely expressed in head and neck tissues, playing an important role in viral entry into the host organism. There are differences in expression levels among different cell types and locations, with TMPRSS2 expressed in respiratory cells and ACE2 more prominent in oral and sinus nasal mucosa.
