Adoption of Telehealth Benefits by Medicare Advantage Plans in 2020 and 2021

Summary: This study analyzed new telehealth benefits offered by Medicare Advantage plans in 2020, with primary care, mental health, and urgent care being the most frequently covered services. Logistic regression showed that plans more likely to offer new telehealth benefits were national plans, plans with a monthly premium, plans with >3540 enrollees, and plans with a star rating of 4.0-4.5.
