Correlates of bird collisions with buildings across three North American countries

Summary: Collisions with buildings cause up to 1 billion bird fatalities annually in the United States and Canada. Studies at large spatial scales with standardized methods are needed to reduce collisions, considering species- and life-history-related variation. The most vulnerable bird species to collisions are migratory, insectivorous, and woodland-inhabiting species.
