Antifibrogenic effects of C-C chemokine receptor type 2 antagonist in a bleomycin-induced scleroderma model

Masato Ishikawa et al.

Summary: Studies have shown that the CCR2 antagonist RS-504393 can effectively inhibit fibrotic changes in a mouse model, including reducing subcutaneous fibrosis, decreasing the number of myofibroblasts and mast cells, and lowering collagen levels in the skin and lungs. Furthermore, RS-504393 also decreases mRNA levels of TGF-beta 1 and collagen Iα1 in sclerotic skin.
