Carvacrol oil inhibits biofilm formation and exopolysaccharide production of Enterobacter cloacae

Summary: This study showed that carvacrol oil inhibits biofilm formation and EPS production of Enterobacter cloacae by down-regulating multiple genes related to biofilm formation. Additionally, the use of other antimicrobial agents can further reduce the number of bacterial cells in carvacrol-treated biofilms.
