Subsolidus phase relations in the Rb2MoO4-R-2(MoO4)(3)-Zr(MoO4)(2) (R = Al, Fe, Cr, Y) systems have been studied for the first time by the method of intersecting cuts. Eight new triple molybdates, with the compositions Rb5RZr(MoO4)(6) (R = Al, Fe, Cr, Y), RbRZr0.5(MoO4)(3) (R = Al, Cr, Fe), and Rb2YZr2(MoO4)(6.5), have been identified in these systems. The thermal properties and crystallographic characteristics of some molybdates have been assessed.
