In this study, the influence of new epoxy-containing liquid rubber-based modifiers on the thermal and mechanical properties of cured epoxy resins was investigated. The epoxy-functional polybutadienes obtained via conventional epoxidation reaction or catalytic hydrosilylation were successfully applied for modifying commercially available epoxy resins to adjust their mechanical properties. The different locations of oxirane rings in polybutadiene chains were found to have a significant impact on the thermal and mechanical properties of cured resins.
