General trust scale: Validation in cross-cultural settings

Summary: The study compared the cross-cultural validity and utility of the Generalized Trust Scale (GTS) in samples from Poland and the United States. The structure and level of trust were found to be comparable across the two cultures. Americans showed higher levels of happiness than Poles, but the relationship between trust and happiness was positive and similar in strength for both countries.
