The waterborne isocyanate-free grafted poly(hydroxy urethane)-poly(butyl methacrylate) hybrid dispersions were synthesized by miniemulsion polymerization, with the grafting induced by methacrylate functionalities in the poly(hydroxy urethane) and controlled by the degree of functionalization. It was found that grafting allowed for fine tuning of the mechanical properties of the PHU-containing hybrids.
