In this study, the strong decays of excited nonstrange charmed mesons were analyzed using HQET, identifying various quantum states and constructing Regge trajectories. The results provide valuable information for future experimental searches of higher excited nonstrange charmed mesons.
The strong decays of experimentally observed excited nonstrange charmed mesons are analyzed in the framework of heavy quark effective theory (HQET). The ratio of the strong decay rates identified the doublets (D1(2420),D2(2460)) as (13P1,13P2), (D(2550),DJ(2600)) as (21S0,23S1) and (D(2740),DJ(2750)) as (13D2,13D3). The DJ(3000) is interpreted as the mixing of 21P1-23P1 states. The resonances DJ(3000) and D2(3000) are identified with 23P2 and 13F2 quantum states, respectively. Such states allows to construct the Regge trajectories in (M2,J) and (M2,nr) planes. We fix the slope and the intercept of each Regge line and estimate the masses of higher excited nonstrange charmed mesons which are lying on the Regge lines. Also, the ratios of the strong decay rates of this higher excited nonstrange charmed mesons are calculated. It can provide valuable information to future experimental search.
