This review explores state-of-the-art and new perspectives description of scaffold-based strategies utilized in insult bone tissue engineering. The bone defects caused by severe trauma and tumor resection can't be healed by themselves. It needs to apply exogenous bone induction materials to recover effectively. In recent years, with the rapid development of bone repair materials and tissue engineering, in-situ bone tissue engineering provides a new choice for the treatment of bone defects. The key point is to prepare cell-free scaffolds instead of grafts and implant them in the defect area to achieve bone healing. Therefore, this paper describes in detail the preparation needs, in-situ preparation methods, functional bone repair scaffold and the application of functional scaffold composite in in-situ tissue engineering.
